Overview of the Iseum Sanctuary

Our mission is to provide Sanctuary to those in need.

The Iseum Sanctuary was established to honor all forms of life by focusing on establishing harmony, caring, balance, and love among all people. The Iseum honors the Divine Feminine, Mother Nature, by serving as a refuge of rescue for those in need: people, animals, trees, flora and fauna. We honor the Goddess with meditation, ceremony and connection to the earth. We further honor the Goddess, Mother Nature, by creating permanent sanctuaries and providing caring homes for all living beings.

Form of Worship

The organization honors Goddess Aset, the Divine Feminine, and, in the process, the Earth by seeking to establish harmony, caring, and love among all people, as well as all living creatures. This is done by living in demonstration of the way to save our world with an inclusive, feminine, nurturing manner.

The Iseum clergy generally follow the principles of the Fellowship of Isis, and worship involves individual and group activities including celebration of religious dates, study and recital of sacred texts, meditation, visualization, and silent or audible prayers.

Ancient Foundations of the Iseum

The Goddess Aset, who equates with Mother Earth, has been worshiped longer than any other deity. She was first worshiped in Ancient Egyptian religion, and later her worship spread throughout the Roman Empire and the greater Greco-Roman world. Ancient Egyptian religion was a complex system of polytheistic beliefs and rituals which were an integral part of Ancient Egyptian society. It centered on the Egyptians’ interaction with many Deities including Aset who were believed to be present in, and in control of, the forces of nature. Rituals such as prayers and offerings were efforts to provide for the gods and gain their favor. Individuals could pray to the gods/goddesses and appeal for their help through the offerings of priests compelling them to act through magic.

Community and Housing

The Iseum Sanctuaries are congregations of kindred spirits worshiping and communing in peace, balance, and harmony. Our Sanctuaries have temples, worship spaces, clergy quarters, meditation gardens, labyrinths, and animal refuges.

One of our new projects is the renovation of a very old, very large home (see above) to provide low and no-cost housing for seniors, veterans, and others in need.

We honor ancient beliefs and expand upon them in connection to our home, our planet. Our clergy feel divinely guided to find, build and manifest Sanctuary communities.
