Today, August 9th, is the anniversary of the day Melissa Mari (my sister) was born. Melissa was called to her spiritual name Mari almost 50 years ago. This year she passed from this plane of existence to join the Goddess.
Goddess Mari dwells within mountain caves, cloaked in mist and fire; she is the breath of the Earth, the rhythm of creation, and the Guardian of life’s delicate balance.
Sometimes she appears as a radiant woman, like Melissa, her hair shimmering like fire or gold, and at other times, she merges into the land, veiled in mist or surrounded by flames. Mari has the ability to transform into animals or elements reflecting her unity with nature, the sacred bond between humanity and the world that sustains us.
Mari of the Moon and Mountain Storm
From Moon Mountain’s peak you cast your gaze,
Where clouds curl round in silver haze.
Mistress of Moon, of rain, of flame,
The earth still trembles at your name.
You ride the storm with lightning’s cry,
Your cloak the thunder in the sky.
In hidden caves your secrets keep,
While roots and rivers breathe your deep.
You judge the proud, uplift the kind,
With ancient law the stars aligned.
O Mari, wild and wise and free,
Great Mother of the Moon and sea.
The Goddess is ever-present, waiting to guide us back to wholeness, to embrace the infinite, and in her presence, we are always home.
